I’ve known Mark Stover of Expressive Photographics for over 6 years. Mark has such a sweet manner about him that he feels like one of the family even when he’s working behind the camera. As a photographer myself I can appreciate his ability to capture those in between moments that are so special. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Mark and see his story-telling ability first hand. I like how he orchestrates the day, seamlessly melding nature into the unfolding event. When he showed me Ken and Kyla’s Wedding from The Big Sur River Inn this past season I fell in love with all of the images. The bride and groom were so stunning. I thought Kyla looked like Ophelia from a Waterhouse painting. Her floral wreath by Kate Healey of Big Sur Flowers set off her delicate features. So romantic!
With the groomsmen playing in the river and the bridesmaids floating around like Greek Goddesses you couldn’t ask for a more magical day. To add to the ethereal quality of the wedding it was during the Soberanes Fire, which luckily didn’t affect the wedding but did give all the images a soft, warm glow. If you are looking for a photographer who is also an artist, I would highly recommend Mark at Expressive Photographics. His collaborative efforts and photographs won’t disappoint you.
